Karley LaZella - About Me

Hello! I'm Karley LaZella, a sophmore Forward/Center from Bemidji MN. I have always loved playingl basketball for as long as I can remember. With my height and size, I enjoy playing underneath the basket and playing tough defense down low in the paint. I am also able to help on the outside and can shoot from the perimeter as well. From the very first time I picked up a basketball at the young age of 4, I have always felt comfortable anywhere on the floor. Whether I was watching my older friends and relatives play basketball or watching college games on television, I knew that I wanted to be that girl out on that court someday. I back up my dreams and aspiration to play basketball at the college level with my high work ethic, my desire to be the best player on the court at all times, my coachability, and my ability to interact with and show kindness to everyone. My work ethic can be seen throughout my action packed days of juggling three sports (Softball, Basketball, and Volleyball), my twice daily workouts both with all my teams and personal workouts separate from my teams. My desire to be the greatest comes from my high sense of competitiveness and my higher yet sense for achievement. My coachability comes from those who have coached me while I was growing up, including my dad, mom and brother. My dad has coached my softball team since I was ten years old and always told me to be approachable by any coach and to always listen to advice because I will never know when that advice may come back to help me. My mom coached my basketball team and has helped me train to be physically and mentally tough. Lastly, my goals for college are simple, play basketball at the highest level possible, be academically successful, show my kindness, and to be the greatest player, teammate and student I can be.
